全店限時買滿兩件包郵(順豐到店取)
At somsomsou, we are devoted members of the Jellycat community. Our goal is to help collectors and gift buyers feel confident when buying Jellycats from places other than the official website—especially when shopping online.
Seeing a Jellycat from your wish list can be exciting, but before you buy, take 2 minutes to check the details below.

1) The price looks unusually low
Discounts can happen, but if a popular or hard-to-find Jellycat is priced much lower than the official price, treat it as a warning sign.
Compare the name, size, and official price on jellycat.com, then ask the seller why it is cheaper (clearance? damage? missing tags?).
2) The seller avoids close-up photos
A trustworthy seller should be able to provide clear close-ups of:
The paper hangtag (front and back)
The fabric tags (tush tags) near the seam/base
The stitching and overall shape (front/side)
3) Check the paper hangtag details
Look for printing quality and consistency. If the tag looks poorly printed, has odd fonts, spelling mistakes, or the product name does not match the plush, be cautious.
4) Check the string/fastener (but do not rely on it alone)
Some older Jellycats were sold with plastic fasteners, while newer ones more commonly use cotton strings. Because tags can vary by production period and region, treat this as a reference point—not the only deciding factor.
5) Check the fabric tags (“tush tags”)
Authentic Jellycats usually come with multiple fabric tags that include things like washing advice, safety marks (e.g., CE/UKCA), materials info, and batch/product codes.
If the plush only has a simple logo tag and nothing else, that is a major red flag.
If you are not confident after these checks, do not rush. Ask for clearer photos, compare details to official product information, or buy from a source with strong trust signals (clear policies, real contact info, and a history of sales).
If you would like a second opinion, feel free to DM us!
Is a Jellycat without the paper hangtag automatically fake?
Not always—tags can be removed. In that case, focus more on the fabric tags, stitching quality, and consistency with official product details.
Can authentic Jellycats have small printing mistakes?
Sometimes small variations happen, so it is best to look for multiple red flags together rather than relying on one single sign.
